Download OrCAD for free and legally!

Introduction

OrCAD is an electronic CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software developed by Cadence Design Systems. It is widely used by engineers and designers to create, simulate, and verify electronic circuits and printed circuit boards (PCBs).

OrCAD consists of several specialized modules:

OrCAD Capture: used to create electronic schematics. Components and connections are created in an intuitive interface.

OrCAD PCB Designer: used for component placement and routing on the printed circuit board.

OrCAD PSpice: an analog and mixed-signal simulation tool that allows you to virtually test the functionality of a circuit before manufacturing it.

OrCAD Layout (legacy module): used for creating the PCB layout, now integrated into PCB Designer.

Thanks to these tools, OrCAD offers a complete design pipeline, from schematic creation to the generation of manufacturing files (Gerber files). It helps reduce errors, optimize circuit reliability, and accelerate the development of electronic products.

In this course, we will see how to download the trial version of OrCAD.

The first step is to go to the Cadence website: link

Once on the Cadence website, click on Free Trial:

Once your account is created, you will be prompted to download ORCAD:

Once the software is downloaded, we can begin the installation:
